ArcDesign Competition 2025

Students from the Architecture program at SADA, NUST, actively participated in the NDMA Tech Expo 2025 through the ArcDesign Competition, where they engaged with pressing questions of disaster risk reduction, resilience, and technology-driven design. The competition provided a national platform for students to translate architectural thinking into pragmatic, context-responsive proposals aligned with NDMA’s mandate. Through rigorous research, iterative design development, and critical engagement with real-world constraints, the students demonstrated a strong capacity to integrate spatial innovation with social and environmental responsibility. Notably, one of our students, Zainab Batool (B.Arch 2023) was awarded 2nd Place in the ArcDesign Competition, a recognition that underscores the academic rigor, originality, and relevance of the work produced. This achievement not only reflects the student’s individual commitment and design excellence but also highlights the strength of the program in fostering research-led, impact-oriented architectural practice that meaningfully contributes to national conversations on resilience and disaster preparedness
