We were honored to host a highly insightful training session on the IFC’s Building Resilience Index (BRI) on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. This critical framework from the World Bank Group is setting the standard for assessing and improving the climate resilience of buildings globally.
The session was attended by a distinguished audience, including faculty from various universities and leading industry experts, emphasizing the interdisciplinary importance of resilience in the built environment.
The event adhered to a highly structured program, commencing with warm welcomes from Prof. Dr. Waqas Ahmed Mahar and a welcome speech by Ar. Prof. Abdul Qayyum Khan, Principal SADA, NUST. The central training module was expertly delivered by Mr. Mathew John Francis, Sr. Operations Officer, IFC, providing participants with actionable knowledge on hazard mapping and risk mitigation.
Closing the session, Ms. Reshma Aftab, Private Sector Specialist/Team Lead, IFC Country Advisory & Economics, delivered the closing remarks and vote of thanks, acknowledging the collaborative effort of Mr. Asad Mahmood and Mr. Muhammad Nabeel Siddiqui (IFC Consultants).
