International Conference: Planning in Germany & Pakistan – Responding to the Challenges of Climate Change through Intercultural Dialogue

An international Conference on the theme “Planning in Germany & Pakistan: Responding to the Challenges of Climate Change through Intercultural Dialogue” was hosted at SADA-NUST in collaboration with the NUST School of Social Sciences & Humanities (S3H). The conference invited researchers and subject experts from Germany, Iran, the Philippines and Pakistan who joined the two-day event hosted at SADA-NUST in November/December 2023.

This conference was facilitated by a wider funding received jointly by Dr. Umer Khayyam (Assoc. Prof., S3H-NUST) and Ar. Safi Ullah (Asst. Prof. & Dean, SADA-NUST). In 2023, the aforementioned NUST faculty members won a research grant from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). This capacity-building grant project aims at the exchange of ideas and inculcating research skills pertinent to climate change. It covers workshops, conferences, field exposure visits, training and publication opportunities for students and faculty from Pakistan and Germany.
