OPEN HOUSE 2026

The National University of Sciences & Technology [NUST] School of Arts, Design & Architecture [SADA] invites you to the inauguration of Open House 2026 ‘at a Crossroads’.

MOU Signing Ceremony

In a significant step toward enhancing Industry–Academia collaboration, the School of Art, Design and Architecture (SADA), NUST, has entered into a formal partnership with Adonis (Tayraak), a prominent name in the footwear industry. The signing ceremony was held at SADA on 21 November 2025, where the Memorandum of Understanding was officially endorsed by Mr. Mannan Tariq and Principal SADA, Ar. Abdul Qayyum Khan.

Under this collaboration, Adonis will contribute to academic enrichment by delivering lectures, seminars, and specialized training sessions to students. The company will also offer technical support in footwear prototyping, enabling students to translate design concepts into real market-ready products. Additionally, selected student designs will be considered for commercial launch under the Adonis brand in the future, offering learners tangible industry exposure and career pathways.

This initiative was made possible through the efforts of Mr. Shahzad Khan, Instructor for Footwear at SADA, with support from Dean Ar. Safi Ullah and Head of Department (Industrial Design), Mr. Rao Shahzaib Khan.

This partnership represents an important milestone in bridging academic excellence with real-world industry practice, fostering innovation, skill development, and future opportunities for students.

A Guest Talk by Ar.Yasmeen Lari

Yasmin Lari’s visit to SADA in collaboration with the IAP was a profoundly inspiring moment for students and faculty alike, bringing the country’s foremost advocate of zero-carbon architecture and heritage preservation into direct dialogue with emerging designers. Her presence illuminated the transformative potential of socially responsive, community-driven design, as she shared insights from her pioneering work with disaster-resilient structures, barefoot enterprises, and vernacular building techniques. Through her generous engagement, Lari encouraged students and architects alike to rethink architectural responsibility, foregrounding empathy, sustainability, and participatory practices as essential tools for shaping equitable futures. Her visit not only enriched academic discourse but also reinvigorated a collective commitment to architecture that uplifts the most vulnerable.
